Several years ago, I started a blog. After one post, one reader and one comment, I abandoned it. The post was fine, the comment friendly, the reader a friend - but did I really want my thoughts out there - on the interwebs - for all to see?
So I built a website. I wanted to share my artwork, not my thoughts. But who wanted to see random artwork with no real purpose? A few friends? My family? They can see the real thing anytime. Like the blog, the website floundered, and the project seemed to loom over me (appropriate for a weaver!)
I continued to wonder how to share my projects, reminded annually when the website renewal was charged to my credit card. Should I keep it? Close it? Redesign it? Do SOMETHING with it?
And all of a sudden, it occurred to me: I could combine these two abandoned projects. I can share my artwork with short posts explaining why the piece is meaningful to me or how I came to make it. Once I had a purpose, bringing this site together was a breeze.
I'm giving this entry a 2011 date so that it will appear at the beginning of the posts. I'm actually writing this, and all posts so far, in 2017. The date I have given each item corresponds to its date of completion. It has been fun for me to reminisce over my projects and to record the thoughts behind them. If anyone happens to read this, I hope you enjoy it too!
